Kristina Benjocki (1984, SRB) lives and works in Amsterdam. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, where she was nominated for the Rietveld prize. Currently, she is a student at the Royal Conservatoire, research in the arts, The Hague.

At Palais Paradiso, Kristina Benjocki will show the video loop 'portrait (stance)'. This work frames the female portrait actively moving around its own axis. As a result of this action, the body is constantly redefining its posture as it intends to hold the chosen position. The portrait stands before us deliberately adopting the posture of the one being observed and the one observing. This attempt to understand the complexity of self/other is always determined by the dynamics between the two.
